Hi

I was able to reproduce the scenario for 2 conditions :
1. if udp port 1434 is blocked by firewall
2. if the port on which the instance is running is blocked

since u r able to connect from windows , condition 2 does not seem
likely.. so, can u check if port 1434 is open on ur sqlserver? if not,
open the port and try again..

Mono needs the port 1434 to be open to be able to connect to named
instances.. let me know if opening the port solves ur problem..

Regards
Senga
