Summary: Mono won't work with alternate X servers (using the DISPLAY variable)

Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what
you are doing.
Description of Problem:
I can run mono apps directly on the linux console, but if I use the linux
DISPLAY variable to run the app on another X server it won't run. For
example, I have mono running on my RHEL system and I have an X server
running on my WinXP system. If I set the DISPLAY variable on the linux
xterm to show the mono app on the WinXP's X server, the app doesn't get
very far.

I will attach a text file with the exceptions and call stacks.

Additional Information:
This is not a new problem, I first tried this about a year ago.
