I've attempted to use the above tutorial. I pasted my results here:

Chktrust doesn't work it produces the following error on a signed exe, "ERROR!
selfcheck.exe signature can't be traced back to a trusted root!"
Attempted using makecert with and without -r
Attempted to add the certificates using certmgr
