I took last nights svn of Mono and compiled it and make/installed it. mono --version reports: Mono JIT compiler version 2.5 ( r Tue Feb 3 16:46:33 EST 2009) then I took my small test program and compiled it in MonoDevelop Alpha2 and got the exact same results so I am pretty confident that it is a Mono/TreeView issue, not something caused by the 'environment'. I will try to set up a OpenSUSE machine on vmware and try it there as well if you would like. Just to make sure I did not leave out a step: 0. Run program 1. Expand parent node 2. Click and hold down left mouse button 3. Move mouse null reference exception in System.Windows.Forms.TreeView.MouseMoveHandler.
