You need to use the latest one from the Mono 2.4 branch or SVN HEAD at the moment. I'll try to backport the relevant fixes into 2.2 later. This is indeed a SuSE 11.1 issue, I installed a completely new SuSE 11.1 in VMware with all the Mono packages from Mono 2.2 and now I can confirm the hangs.
