When you use AutoSize for all your columns, and have two controls in one row
that span each over two columns, one positioned in column 0, the other in
column 2, only the second will be displayed.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
this.tableLayoutPanel1.ColumnCount = 4;
this.tableLayoutPanel1.ColumnStyles.Add(new
System.Windows.Forms.ColumnStyle(System.Windows.Forms.SizeType.AutoSize));
this.tableLayoutPanel1.ColumnStyles.Add(new
System.Windows.Forms.ColumnStyle(System.Windows.Forms.SizeType.AutoSize));
this.tableLayoutPanel1.ColumnStyles.Add(new
System.Windows.Forms.ColumnStyle(System.Windows.Forms.SizeType.AutoSize));
this.tableLayoutPanel1.ColumnStyles.Add(new

Actual Results:
only the second control, the button, is displayed; the textbox is nowhere to be
seen.
Expected Results:
both controls should be visible, each spanning 2 columns.
It actually works, if the size is absolute or relative, eg:
