I have done some more testing. I can prevent this bug from occuring by using the Home Button on the simulator to cause the debugger to stop. Doing this prevents the bug from occuring. If, however, I use the stop button at the Top-Middle of the MonoDevelop UI to stop the debugger while it is attached to the Simulator, the bug occurs each subsequent attempt at debugging. I can stop the error at that point by switching the "version" the Simulator is simulating.
