Summary: Creating a package with source that does not compile
                    causes VS to crash

           Product: Mono: Tools
           Version: MonoVS 1.1
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Windows Vista
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: P5 - None
         Component: Visual Studio Integration
        AssignedTo: [email protected]

          Found By: Component Test
           Blocker: ---

Description of Problem:

Windows Vista 64 with VS 2k8
Monotools 1.1.5658

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. create a simple winforms app from a template.
2. compile and run.
3. Create a Linux package for the project, adding the executable
created in the last step as the only file and setting it as
   the start up binary.
4. Add some non-compilable code to Form1.Designer.cs.
5. clean the solution.
6. Click the "Create Package" button in the Package Configuration form

Actual Results:

Visual studio crashes

Expected Results:

an error should be displayed saying that the project cannot be compiled

How often does this happen?
every time

Additional Information:
It would be a common scenario to make code changes and then recreate a package
making this a common failure. In any case, we should not crash.
