https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=647464#c5 --- Comment #5 from Dan Parnham <[email protected]> 2010-11-25 10:09:43 UTC --- Well our digging took us full circle back to mono. We've tried building libc6 and mono with gcc 4.4 and 4.5! If it was a problem with libc6 itself surely the entire system would be unstable? Then we started trying to debug mono by attaching gdb to the mono instance launched by monodevelop when soft-debugging and breaking inside the debugger-agent related code. It did seem that the stack manipulation performed during debugging is the likely culprit but with practically no understanding of what is going on inside the mono run-time, we couldn't determine what part of the code was responsible for throwing the stack out of alignment in this situation. It really needs someone who understands how the whole lot works and fits together to be able to track down the cause, preferably running an i7 processor so that they can see the same issue we're seeing. We've been battling with this for 1.5 months now and the combination of spending so much time trying to determine what the problem is and the actual inability to debug has meant the game we were working on has been halted for the entire time! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. _______________________________________________ mono-bugs maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/mono-bugs
