Beats me then. I've modified your task to not deal with the .pdb, and modified the project to not emit the .pdb, and we have the same error with or without it. But only in the case with csc optimizations off. So it might indicate that the issue is indeed with the non optimized IL and not with the .pdb. Except that again, the IL is byte per byte identical.
