Do you have a 64 bit system? If so, then
it won’t load a 32-bit library (at least it didn’t for me when I
was doing something else).

thanks. I checked this RPM and it was not
installed. I installed it and got the same problem.
Might there be a sequencing issue? e.g.,
i need to have installed readline-devel before installing mono?
