Since Mono v2.0.1 worked for me, I was thinking of comparing the code for the SPARC architecture, but it's certainly not my expertise. Not surprisingly, simply using the v2.0 SPARC.h file (I can't recall which exact file I used) in the v2.4 build just didn't work.
