Hi i'm here again with a simple question,
I would like to translate the monodoc documentation in italian, but i didn't find a way to do this. I only find a web page (http://www.go-mono.com/monodoc-xml.html) where says that i can use the lang attribute in this way <doc lang="ISO-code">, it's right? or there's another way?
That page must be extremely old. It doesn't reflect the structure of the XML documents that are used now.
The Monodoc documentation is huge, to say the least. Getting the documentation in English is a huge project (and very unfinished). Translating it is a huge project too. Maybe on the order of a hundred hours of work.
See: http://cvs.hispalinux.es/cgi-bin/cvsweb/monodoc/class/?cvsroot=mono
The documentation is in CVS at /monodoc/class.
Each assembly documented has a directory there.
Within those directories is directory for each language. Currently there's only "en."
Within that, there is the real documentation. Each namespace has a directory. In those, each type has a file. So, you will want to build a similar structure in a directory for Italian (what's the ISO code for Italian?).
There's probably a flag in the assembler program (in monodoc/browser) that selects English for compiling the docs. I don't remember.
I'd suggest you copy the type files one by one from the en directory to the Italian directory as you translate them so you can keep track of what's been documented. It could turn into a big mess very quickly.
Good luck...
