Going further with your idea, it would be nice to turn Monodoc into a collaborative documentation editor. This way, third party project admins could be able to add information about the location of its central documentation repository inside their monodoc files, and Monodoc would know where to send the patches.
I'm not sure it's really necessary. With a local edit feature, you can just be editing files from a cvs/svn repository and submit a patch when you're done editing.
