/etc/ld.so.conf was the problem (damned I was sure this one was ok, sorry...) but 
another problem came up about GChandle. I supposed I need to recompile with garabage 
collector activated. So I did, but after compiling and installing gc6.1, mono 
compilation failed with the following error : 

wapi-private.h:25: #error configure failed to discover size of unix socket path

Is this question harder ? :)

Is /usr/local/lib in your library search path? If not, add it to the
$LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable or /etc/ld.so.conf. Also, make
sure that you're using the runtime installed in /usr/local.

You might want to install the packages at http://www.atoker.com/mono/
instead.
