One question: when should i place a mono compatible icon instead of works with?
Good question! I would leave this as a personal choice.
Well IMO compatible is a stronger concept than works with, and except for the words i receive a better message with the green color in compatible icon rather the the red used in works with.
Just my 2 cents.
