I'm using NAnt with Mono on Linux (Fedora Core 1) without any problems. I'm using mono CVS version and I generally update and rebuild mono every 2-3 days.
The trick is to rebuild NAnt before first use. There's a makefile for this purpose. Just type "make" and it should work fine. In case you cannot recompile NAnt from sources I've prepared a snapshot of the version I'm using on Linux. You can get it at: http://jaak.sav.net/nant_linux.tar.bz2 (you might need to adjust NAnt.exe.config by putting the correct mono paths there). Hope it helps.
