Gonzalo, First of all, thank you for attempting to re-package Mono Beta 1 for Windows. Sorry I didn't stick around last nightt to test it. I got sleepy.
When I run mcs.exe --version, I get a message box that has a title "mono.exe - Unable to Locate Component" and a message "This application has failed to start because MSCR70.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". I've seen this many times from people emailing me or the list. Should MSVCR70.dll be included with Mono? For a release build of mcs on Windows, how do build mcs like you do Linux to be self-hosting? I think this would solve the problem with mcs needing MSVCR70.dll Or should there be requirements for installation of a service pack of winows or internet explor or mozilla that would include MSVCR70.dll? I used to tell people, you could do either of the following: - install the .net framework 1.1 from microsoft or - download it from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr70 or - download and install Internet Explorer 6 from Microsoft or - download and install a recent binary release of Mozilla or Firefox What do you think?
