Peter,
Thanks a lot, -codepage:utf8 solved this problem.

Alexey

Alexey,

Are you using the -codepage argument to tell mcs what encoding your editor
used for storing the cyrillic characters in your source file?
If you can reply with some sample code (and also maybe one of the strings in

the email, so we know what it's supposed to look like), I can test here.

Cheers,
  Peter

Subject: [Mono-list] Cyrillic and MONO

Hi,

I am trying to port some Russian applications to LINUX, specifically to
SUSE10, and my problem is that the output to Console and also the labels of
the controls on the Forms are not displaying Cyrillic letters as expected.
Each Cyrillic character occupies two positions as if someone did not process
Unicode correctly. I have installed some Windows truetype fonts to SUSE, but
with the same result.

Strangely, the Russian version of the "Hello, world" application in plain c
compiled with gcc works correctly.

The problem also is that I am a novice in LINUX and maybe that's the only
reason of other problems.

Can somebody help me to have Cyrillic in Mono?

Regards,

Alexey Solomakhov
