I've tryied badly to compile Mono on Windows, but I've given up a long time ago because I was unable to figure out what the hell was the problem with cygwin. If you want a piece of advice, install a linux distro like Ubuntu in a VMWare and compile Mono with it. It's a lot easier, you will only need some apt-get installs before getting it to work.

Basically, i'm slowly being driven demented trying to compile Mono SVN on windows. I just can't seem to get it to work. I've read the guide on the mono website about compiling mono, but i still can't get it compiled. I was hoping that someone who has been compiling SVN checkouts on windows recently could tell me what cygwin packages/versions they have installed and how they go about compiling mono. I need the SVN version as there is a patch there that fixes async sockets under windows, and i need to test it out.
