There is Sybase Adapter Server Enterprise and VistaDB which are similar to Microsoft SQL Server.
Sybase runs on Linux and Windows. Mono has a data provider for Sybase. VistaDB 3.0 is fully managed so it should run on Windows and Linux. VistaDB 3.0 has support for Mono.
