I did the following test by 2 machines WinXP, 3.2GHz, 2GB RAM, same NIC, .NET 2.0, MONO 1.2.3.1: .NET --> .NET MONO --> MONO .NET --> MONO MONO --> .NET and get always 90 ... 95 MBit/s! Obviously this is not a MONO problem, sorry. So I have to look at network/NIC config/driver on Linux.
