At the moment KDE (especialy 4.0) and GNOME are moving forward to use as most SVG as possible. KDE 4.0 for example have only SVG-icons - no longer pixel-icons like *.png, *gif or *.jpg. But is SVG not from the functionality a subset of Silverlight ? Then it would be a thought, if it is possible, to integrate in GNOME Silverlight-icons for the desktop. And creating a fork of Inkscape, which saves to Silverlight-files and supports the additional functionalities, which SVG not have.
