If I have understand well. You are trying to build a persistence's layer to treat objects as objects regardless database. For sure you know the ORM concept (Object Relational Mapping). There are a great variety of this frameworks which resolves the work you on. I invite you to give a chance to NHibernate framework. (http://www.nhibernate.org) It may be the tool you want.
