The installer for Mono 2.0 requires administration access. In some earlier versions I believe this was not the case. The problem is that with most windows installer creator software you actually need to make an effort to ensure the installer does not require this - ie can be installer by a PowerUser.
What this means is that those of us in an environment where developers do not have admin access to their machines (ie most corporate environments) are unable to try out the new release - on our work machines at least. At the least a tarball of the binaries would be good - as far as I know everything should be runnable right out of a directory. thanks, Ian -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Windows-installer-requires-admin-access-tp19872222p19872222.html Sent from the Mono - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Mono-list maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/mono-list
