This very often comes down to casing issues. When you run on Linux you must make sure paths match exactly. For example, if you have:
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" %> Then the master file name cannot be "Site.master". It absolutely must be "Site.Master". No you could try running in IO compatibility mode ... but I've forgotten how to do that. I, myself, tried running and seemed to be getting more serious errors and promptly quit trying.
