Thank you for your kind reply. Anyway yes, I'm sure those are the functions of framework .Net 2.0 I need. They serve me well on the Microsoft counterpart. I expressly need to avoid pinging or querying some specific servers.
I temporarily resolved using NDesk.Dbus libraries, until someone will put his hands on that part of framework. I do hope that code will be implemented, cause it's annoying and could be hard to maintain two sections of our application that do the same things.
