The result of "pkg-config --cflags mono" was:

Package mono was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `mono.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'mono' found


Not sure if it will help, but the result of "mono --version" is:
