This sample app seems mostly UI work, and thus is impossible to
accomplish using a single copy of the code.

Maybe it is a good time to mention that both the Android and iOS
bindings of mono cost money, 
and that the iOS binding (MonoTouch) requires the iOS SDK and a Mac.
