Thanks Ian, I'll try this, but first I'll have to reinstall your pmono. I tried running my app without the debugger and got an immediate System.TypeLoadException, which I understand to mean that I have mis-matched assembly versions. After trying a number of other things to correct it I removed pmono to try to go back to the original 2.8.10.1 without any chance of mix ups. (Which didn't work anyway...) So I've got to sort that out before I proceed with remote debugging.
