Hi.

I'm working on a Windows CE contract that requires over-the-air updates of a small set of DLLs that are infrequently changed. When my app starts up, it queries a web service to see if there are any new updates and if so, requests them. After updating, the main thread of my app starts up, dynamically loading the DLLs. The process works fine.

My client is primarily a Linux production shop and would like to avoid any MS products in the production chain if they can. This gives rise to the question as to whether or not it is possible to compile these DLLs using the Mono compiler instead of VS 2008 - would those DLLs work on the WINCE device?

I've seen Q's and A's relating to compiling the Mono runtime for WINCE, but we really don't need to do that.

Thanks for any input.

    Bo
