TBH I don’t if it is important on this level as it is a core part of .NET on 
Windows now. All apps starting windows 8.x are WPF or a variation of it.

The source is already in the referencesource website(not the github under MIT 
license), except the native component which renders with DirectX.

My guess is that Microsoft will release it with the rest of the framework on 
build 2015.
