I don't know about the black list block thing, but the reason NUnit is saying it "Can't find and run the tests" has to do with something in the ConvertTest (or Convert itself). If I exclude that test from the build, then I can run all the tests on mono on Linux. This might be related to Krister's problem, but I'm not sure.
