Ummm. Do you know where the project got its name? It's pronounced moe-noe, not mah-no. Mono is Spanish for 'monkey.' Therefore, I think a monkey is MORE than appropriate. Besides which, monkeys rock.
The logo doesn't even come close to the look or feel of Ximian's logo. The only similarity is that there's a monkey on each. If it comes to a vote, I'm pro-monkey.
