Hi Jean-Pierre, What Miguel said is that Gtk/KDE/WinForms/..., all of them, depend on the X-Server and its installed extensions, and some other libraries and also on hardware support (to have acceptable performance) so that transparency works. You can code your program to have transparent windows and when run on a FC3 machine like mine it won't have any transparency.
It is kind of doing windows with transparent regions, or non-retangular format, in windows, it will only work right in Win200/WinXP/Win2003, but will look terrible in Win98/Win95 if it works at all. Did you understand? :) On 6/29/05, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Selon Miguel de Icaza <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Thank you for your answer. > > > Eventually it will be supported, it is not very hard, but it will > > require major upgrades to your windowing system. > > Do you mean that is is not possible to have any transparent window under Linux > at all, even using Gtk ?! > > Jean-Pierre > > > > > Hello, > > > > > Is there a solution to implement transparency on a window ?
