I have been a Linux enthusiast and console programmer for some time.
However, I never could get started with GUI programming (found both
Xlib and GTK too confusing, Qt's custom compiler worse), but WinForms
provided me with an easy intro as it uses an API I already understand
(my job is a fat client VB .NET project).

I'm stuck with VI for developing right now (it seems my distro doesn't
ship with gnome *at all*), but WinForms worked perfectly the first
time.
