I think everyone is overestimating the effort needed to get up to speed with
Java for Android. If you've done any work with MonoDroid you are probably
already familiar with many of the concepts of Android:
  * The activity lifecycle (onCreate, onPause, onRestart, etc.)
  * Services, Content Providers, and Broadcast Receivers
  * Layout XML files, asset files, animation files, and other resources
  * And if you're experienced with C# it isn't that much of a stretch to get
proficient with Java

Eclipse is ok to get started with but if you've used ReSharper in VS it's
not a stretch to use IntelliJ for Android (same company, JetBrains.)

I think a plan B would be a good idea. IANAL but I can't think of any way
this doesn't end up tied up in court.
