That is the default behavior, unless you set
ActivityAttribute.ConfigurationChanges:
[Activity(ConfigurationChanges=ConfigChanges.Orientation)]
public class ManuallyHandleScreenRotation : Activity {
}
If you want the activity to be re-created on screen rotation, DO NOT set
ActivityAttribute.ConfigurationChanges.
