Hi,
+1 for a statically generated website (e.g., hugo, zola, pelican, ... -
after all, that's also the way the wiki works with ikiwiki).
The PHP elements were in there to support:
* collecting/aggregating blog entries - not sure if that is relevant
anymore these days
* powering the download list, automatically adding new binaries as
soon as they are available - can also be done statically
I'd also vote to include a DE version.
If needed, I can also help.
Happy holidays and best regards,
Thomas

Yes, this workflow will suffice.
I'll always ask for your review before publishing anything to production.

Let's start by getting monotone.ca in line with GDPR, EAA, ...,
creating solid legal ground for world-wide software distribution.
We'll work on SEO and on funnelling more visitors into actually
downloading and using Monotone, reducing the bounce rate.
I propose a bilingual (EN, IT) website powered by HTML5, SVG and CSS 3
as a solid, reliable base to build upon.
It will have better caching, higher reliability under load and smaller
attack surface.

It would be nice to have the webpages served by a standard webserver
like Apache or nginx.
We'll start with static publishing and then add only the minimal
necessary scripts and cron jobs bit by bit.
I'll recreate the same server environment on my computers (I use LAN
domains for testing before pushing remotely).

You're welcome.🙂
Let me know if your team is ok with having a new collaborator and
eventually their names/roles/... for effective communication.
If yes don't forget to send the credentials and the instructions on
how to push safely, all via PGP-encrypted email at this address.
If I start working on it this weekend, you'll have the first draft
before New Year's Eve and a production release within the end of January.
Merry Xmas,🎄
