this is the reply I got from the list when I asked about this (specifically MT) a week or so ago
I've tried it -- Monotouch itself works fine and there was no need to reactivate when installed over SL, but MonoDevelop has periodic crashes which are *very* annoying. In particular, it dies each time you ALT-TAB to another file. I don't know what the state of MD is these days, but until that's fixed I wouldn't bother.
