The following code compiles just fine for me when I pasted it into a
sample project.
IPEndPoint ip = new IPEndPoint (IPAddress.Parse ("1.2.3.4"), 2);
Socket msocket = new Socket (ip.AddressFamily,
SocketType.Stream,ProtocolType.Tcp);
IAsyncResult ar = msocket.BeginConnect(ip,null,null);
Can you provide a complete project that fails to compile for you?
