I have just finished porting MGSplitViewController to Monotouch a few hours ago. It is a 1:1 implementation completely written in C# and gets you rid of all ObjectiveC libraries and bindings. You will also find a demo project that shows how to use the MTSplitViewController. Be aware that the details view in the demo has some bugs with regards to resizing, but I have not found time to fix this yet.
