Thanks for the suggestion/advice. Unfortunately, it still didn't work. I tried it in the ViewDidAppear too, and it didn't work in there either.
I should point out that this is the firs time the app is launched, and it's the first view that is displayed after the splash screen. I'm not sure if that is at all relevant. Just using a normal UIAlertView.Show() appears to work, so it must be the "wait until button click" logic that is causing the problem.
