I seem to be getting this a fair bit since upgrading to the latest stable releases of MT and MD:
Installation failed: AMDeviceInstallApplication returned: 0xe800801c error MT1006: Could not install the application 'appname' on the device: AMDeviceInstallApplication returned: 0xe800801c. There doesn't seem to be any way of rectifying the problem other than rebooting the machine.
