Note - this exception occurs with the async and non-async version of GetHostAddresses() as well.
This is obviously an issue, so I'm hoping there has been an obvious solution already implemented :-) Without being able to get host addresses or a host entry for the host name (with or without .local), then I fear many network-based apps under IOS6 + monotouch are in trouble. I noticed this at least 2 months ago, but being busy with my day job at the time, chose to simply pull the apps from sale on the app store.
