Huh? The running example is all about things that can break, as in broken. Cars can break. Bones can break. Breakdancers can break.
If you have an idea for a real-world example that could be done in as little code, I'm all for it. I've found that examples of things I'd actually use tend to be much more involved than I want for a manual, which is why there's such an artificial example.
