FYI: control-click fires the event fine.

My understanding of events inside the DOM much to be desired but I did
do some testing.

All tests are on a OS X with FF 3.

If I use the W3C event model and use 'addEventListener' on 'click' and
attach it to 'document' I can look at the the event object and look at
the button value and know weather it was a left or right click. If I
use the same method but attach it to a dom element besides the
'document' the event never fires on right click. Can anyone explain
why this is.

If I run the same code in FF2 or Safari they will never fire with a
right click using the 'click' event.

Any general insight is welcomed.
