I'm on Safari 4.0 (5528.1) on Leopard and everything behaves as
expected, I can click on either next button (the image or the
thumbnails) and see that it does what it should, if I move my mouse
afterward it doesn't do anything. (identical behavior to FireFox 2, 3)

I know that doesn't help you one jot or tittle but thought you might
like to know.
