I have the following sample code for a horizontal menu with a
"background" that slides around to follow the mouse from one link to
another:

The background is actually an absolutely positioned div that I morph
around to rest on the link under the mouse cursor.

It mostly works except for one problem. I want the highlight bar to
disappear when I leave the div surrounding the menu links. If I move
the mouse slowly, It works. If I move the mouse too quickly up or down
off a link and out of the surrounding div, it seems my mouseleave
event doesn't fire.

Are there event experts out there that can tell me what I'm doing
wrong and how to fix it? I see the same problem on both Firefox 2 and
IE6.
