I do not believe that you would be able to get a port binding server- side application to run on shared / virtual hostings where 95% of all websites are hosted on (not speaking about virtual or dedicated root servers).
Correct me if i understand APE the wrong way, but it is just a streaming server binding a pre-defined (deamonized) port to listen. And i haven't yet understand how to execute my existing serverside php/ ruby/perl/whatever scripts through APE - maybe just by adding C-Based modules? Or do i get your suggestion totaly wrong and you are just talking about the javascript-side?
